VIVA ITALIA FOR TIRAMISU!


Now, now, you gotta love the Italians for good food you enjoy and not just that - kiss the cook (particularly the baker!) for the Tiramisu!

You can google what goes in a Tiramisu but this my version of this absolutely decadent dessert. I used a sponge cake (a genoise) for the layers instead of the Savoiardi Biscuits ( the real deal ), Espresso was used to soak the cake layers and a splash of Jack Daniels for a nice boozy kick. It's still Mascarpone Cream that turned almost like a Sabayon so light and airy, and then covered the cake with an espresso dark chocolate ganache. An espresso bean and a dusting of ground coffee powder on the whipped cream topping just mimicked the italian coffee experience.
