Nutty Pecan and Butterscotch
Butterscotch to me is like a creamier caramel and it can be on the sweeter side. Pair it with the slight bitter aftertaste of toasted pecan and you have a match made in ... The Sugar Hippie - Kitchen Lab, actually is the kitchen at work.
This particular cake took a bit of time to come to life. There are components that need to be prepared separately to complete the assembly of the cake. Butterscotch base for the frosting, Roasting, chopping the nuts, and making the butterscotch sauce to drizzle on the cake takes a little bit of planning to make the assembly faster. The long preparation time is well rewarded, though. The cake is moist. There is great texture of soft and crunch. The caramel and pecan also works well.
For anyone having tried making butterscotch sauce, buttercream and cream cheese frostings, this cake would be a great thing to try making.
