Chocolate and Roses - A Valentine Story

This cake, I have to say, just made my Valentine's Day quite nostalgic and flattering. My smile was up to my ears, stunned, and I can tell that my customer was certainly happy with his experience. Last year for Valentine's I baked Chocolate, Red Velvet, vanilla, and Flourless Chocolate Cakes along with French Macarons. And George, his real name, came to us for gifts for his wife and kids. What is most flattering is that after a year, he came back for this very reason - the sugar hippie sweet treats will be his love offering for his wife and kids. Ain't that cool?? Sure he could have gone to other shops but he remembered. He made a trip back to our old little shop. And that my friends validated the cause - Why I do what I do... and not for selfish reasons but just to be able to pass on something good and something people would share. George is not just a customer but someone who believes that good things have to be shared and remembered.

What is this cake about - It's your chocolate and roses in cake form. Rich layers of dark chocolate cake  is filled and frosted with rosewater buttercream. And it's buttercream so divine it taste like ice cream. I swear it.

What would you do for your valentine's?

Happy Valentine's!
