This little cake has it's roots from the financial district in Paris, France. It's suppose to resemble gold bars and indeed it looks like one. It's spongy and moist. The smell of beurre noisette or brown butter adds to its nutty flavor as this cake is made with almond flour, mostly.

I work very close to a bank head quarters and I thought, this would be a fitting tribute to the people who work there.

It's great with tea and french pressed coffee.. Come by and have some!
