Yule logs with Fondant Mushrooms

In one of the 2016 Holiday Parties, I created a 4-foot Yule log for a huge holiday event and the design concept was similar to this. Taking inspiration from the Yule log 4 years ago, the 2020 version is filled with more flavorful stuff. It has layers of dark chocolate cake, fresh berries, dark chocolate ganache and vanilla buttercream. The decors were fondant mushrooms, melted chocolate and gold highlighted berries. The fondant mushrooms were particularly fun to make. Each mushroom was made to look different and all were hand-painted. 

I made 3 sizes of the cakes to accommodate the requests. stacks of three logs to logs that serve 6 people.  Check out the photos below and see the cake in every angle :)
