Sugar Cookie Winter Village: A Festive Holiday Center Piece

I always dreamed of having a winter holiday in a festive Christmas village. I like to be surrounded by snow capped mountains, cottages and pine trees. I like to see houses and pine trees decorated with colorful lights and ornaments. This is the inspiration of this edible center piece. It consists of lemon pound cake shaped like trees and I dusted it with edible glitter and powdered sugar. The village houses are sugar cookies decorated with royal icing. Inside are 3 tiers of dark chocolate cake covered with Italian buttercream. This help the sugar cookies stick to the cake.
