Art Installation: Japanese Cranes

Japanese Cranes. A symbol of longevity and fidelity.
I am currently working on another art installation featuring japanese cranes. A flock of cranes will mimic a migratory flight in the cafe window of 51 Street Bakery and Cafe in Long Island City, New York.

It is still a work in progress and I hope to complete them by middle of January of 2017.  These birds are so fascinating because they perform a "dance" to solidify their bond with another crane of the opposite sex. These cranes mate for life. They are part of Japanese folklore. Novels and stories have been written about them. To name one - "Sadako and the 1000 Paper Cranes written by Canadian-American Author Eleonor Coerr.

Stay tuned when the art installation is complete.
